Juanita Yvonne Palmier, 77, of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away at 8:20 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
She was born April 4, 1940 in Lebanon, Illinois, a daughter of the late Harold and Anna (Meyer) Woods.
She married Robert T. Palmier in April 1973 at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Shiloh and he survives.
She was a faithful member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville. She had a special love for flowers and was a member of the Edwardsville Garden Club, Missouri Botanical Gardens and was an Illinois Master Gardener. She enjoyed her days of painting, furniture restoration and antiquing. She was a beloved wife, loving mother and grandmother and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by three daughters, Tracy Jungmann of Shiloh, Angie (David) Roustio of Independence, Missouri and Sherri (Nicholas) Currie of Baltimore, Maryland; a son, Brett (Tamara) Palmier of Edwardsville; ten grandchildren, Bailey, Aleigh, Tommy (fiancé, Ashley), Annalee, Holly, Bennett, Zacharie, Benjamin, Camille and Iris; a brother, William C. (Janet) Woods of Lebanon, Illinois; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles “C.J." and two sisters, Lee and Virginia.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Joseph Havrilka as celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemeterey in Edwardsville.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Unity Hospice or to masses and may be accepted at the funeral home.
