Louis C. Popovsky A.K.A. “Lou Kristofer” 90 of Granite City passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017 at St. Louis University Hospital.

Louis was born on June 22, 1927 in Madison, Illinois; the son of the late Christo Naum and Latsa (Pirovsky) Popovsky. Louis was a Psychotherapist and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of Sts. Cyril & Methody Eastern Orthodox Church in Granite City, Illinois and will be remembered for his kind heart and all the people he entertained through the years.

Lou is survived by his sister; Eleanor Popovsky of Granite City, Illinois and many other extended family members and friends.

In celebration of Lou’s life, graveside services will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Cemetery, 2901 Nameoki Road in Granite City, Illinois. Memorials are suggested to Sts. Cyril & Methody Eastern Orthodox Church, 4770 Maryville Road, Granite City, Illinois 62040. Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City is serving the family.
