Joseph William Bolt Sr. 73, of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 29, 1940 in Ramsey, IL, a son of the late Breen and Bertha (Hebel) Bolt.
Joseph married Betty Joyce Laird in East St. Louis, IL on March 18, 1960 and she survives. He retired from Prairie Farms Dairy in 2002 after forty seven years of dedicated service. He was a member of Clark Avenue Church of Christ, Odd Fellows and Moose Lodge all in Granite City, IL. He will be remembered for the love and special times he shared with his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph William and Jennifer Bolt Jr. of Granite City; one daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Gregg Harrison of Orlando, Florida; four grandchildren, Lauren Bolt, Tyler Bolt, Blake Harrison and Austin Harrison; one brother and sister-in-law, Abe and Bernice Bolt; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Ruth Bolt, Ruby and Eugene Ishum, Donna and Jim Hand, Rosalie and Bob Gregonis and Connie and Julius Balsai, all of Granite City; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey Bolt and Jeannie Bolt; niece, Donna Ishum; and nephew, Nathan McKee
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Rd. Granite City, IL.
In celebration of his life, funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, IL with Ministers Eugene Ishum and Scott Springer officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
