Mary Rose (Kozuch) Glosecki, age 90 born in Granite City on July 8, 1922 passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013 at Fountain View Manor in Granite City. Her family moved to Hillsboro, Illinois where she was raised on the family farm. There she met her future husband, John G. Glosecki. They were married in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1986.
Mary enjoyed bowling, golf, pinochle, baseball, and football, but most of all, camping throughout the United States, and after retirement spending their winters in Florida.
Mary was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City. She belonged to the Young at Heart, Ladies Club, Bowling League, Good Sam Club and the Illini Campers of Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Steve and Mary Kozuch; sister, Ann; brothers, Andy, George and Joe. Mary is survived by her daughters; Mary Ann Glosecki of Granite City and Polly & (Darryl) Kraus of Glen Carbon; four grandchildren, Sara Kraus, Amy & (Jim) Gibson, Rebecca & (Ben) Slater, Phillip Kraus; nine great-grandchildren and one brother, Rudy and numerous nieces and nephews.
In celebration of her life a funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2606 Washington Ave. in Granite City with Fr. Jeff Holtman officiating. Burial will at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in the form of Masses or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
