Virginia C. Wightman, 80, of Collinsville passed from this life on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at her home with her family by her side. Virginia was born on April 28, 1930 in St. Louis, MO to John & Adele (Meier) Moon. She was a life long homemaker and loved to spend time with her family. Virginia enjoyed connecting people with their loved ones through her hobby as a Ham radio operator. She was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville and in her free time loved to play golf in Palm Springs. She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her daughters, Carole & (Jerry) Stack of Collinsville IL, Susan & (James) Means of Troy, IL, Patricia & (Alan) Tromp of Florissant, MO; 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Stack of Collinsville, IL, Christine Stack of Collinsville, IL, David Means of Troy, IL; 2 sisters, LaVerne Moon of St. Louis, MO, Marjorie Tremmel of St. Louis, MO and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband, Joseph C. Wightman, whom she married on August 11, 1951 in St. Louis; her parents; sister, Kathryn Moon and a brother, Clarence Moon. Friends may call on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 207 Vandalia in Collinsville at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. William Wightman and Mnsgr. Kenneth Steffen officiating. Burial will be at Sts.
