Shirley May Wicoff, 85, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at New Athens Home for the Aged on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 9:55 p.m.
She was born September 30, 1928 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Clarence and Ora (Lewis) Wicoff.
She retired from Granite City Steel after 25 years of dedicated clerical service as a secretary.
She had a special love of the holidays and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glenn and Estelle Sauerwein Sr. of Walsh, Illinois; four nieces and nephews and their spouses, Rodney Sauerwein of New Athens, Illinois, Debra and Rick Volmer of New Athens, Illinois, Tamela and Charles Hubert of Collinsville and Glenn and Lynn Sauerwein Jr. of Walsh, Illinois; many great nieces and great nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Violet Sauerwein and Ruth Ella Wicoff.
In celebration of her life, a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler, Illinois. Reverend Clint Wisdom will officiate.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
