Sandra K.H. Anderson, 67, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 6:49 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born October 13, 1946 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Charles Robert and Myrtle Lucille (Puhse) Hickman.
She married Earl L. Anderson on May 17, 1975 in Granite City and he survives. Sandy was the owner of Aloha Cosmetology School, her passion was teaching at the school. In her free time she enjoyed bowling, dancing, crocheting, taking her grandchildren to the movies or fishing, or reading a good book. She was an active P.T.A. mother and enjoyed traveling with her husband and three boys. In her youth she would spend her free time on the lakes and rivers of many different states, where she would ski, fish and swim with her friends and family. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and many friends.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, J.B. and Kimm Anderson of Webster Groves, Missouri, Dana Anderson of Granite City and Ryan Anderson of Granite City; five grandchildren, Keller, Beckett, Maxwell, Rylee and Ryan; one sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Jerry Lakin of Granite City; other extended family and friends.
Memorial service and celebration of her life will at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Granite City Moose Lodge. The celebration will take place after the memorial service is concluded.
