Rosalie Mae (Broyles, Bronnbauer) Atwater, age 73, of Granite City, IL, left this world at 12:20 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Gateway Regional Medical Center, Granite City, IL. Rosalie was born on February 14, 1943, in Granite City, IL, a daughter of Edward Edmond Broyles and Connie Finazzo, Broyles) Wheeler.
Rosalie was a loving, caring and giving lady. She had worked for WRO through CPI Corporation in St. Louis, MO, in the payroll department. She enjoyed crocheting and had a love for Nascar racing, she was also a Jeff Gordan fan. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends Rosalie loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her father, Rosalie was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Christy Marie Bronnbauer; her first husband and father of her four children, Alfred Karl Bronnbauer; second husband, Joseph A. Atwater and a sister, Denise Loraine Miller.
She is survived by her dear mother and stepfather, Connie and Jim Wheeler; loving children, Connie (Bruce) Gerfen of Collinsville, IL, Karl (Michelle) Bronnbauer of Normal, IL, Karen (Craig) Nonn of Granite City, IL, Kurt Bronnbauer of Granite City, IL and Joni Holmes of Pomona, MO; siblings, Edward Broyles of Granite City, IL, Pat Headrick of Hudson, IL, Pam (Junior) Pool of Granite City, IL and Tony (Tina) Broyles of Bunker Hill, IL; proud grandmother to ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; extended family and many dear friends.
Memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Granite City Eagles Lodge #1126, 2558 Madison Ave. Granite City, IL.
In celebration of her life, memorial services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Father Chris Comerford officiating.
