Rookmin "Dolly" Bassoo, 70 of Pontoon Beach passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at her home with her family by her side. Dolly was born on October 12, 1942 Guyana. She was a former school teacher and ordained with the Association of the Gospel Assembly's. She will be remembered for the love of her family and the many special times shared together.
She is survived by and will be missed by her husband; Rev. Lloyd Bassoo, whom she married on December 21, 1963; daughter, Becky & (Doug) Harris of Chicago, IL; sons, David Bassoo of Seattle, WA, Leonard Bassoo of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Rachel Bassoo of Orlando, FL, Rebecca Bossoo of Orlando, FL, Samuel Harris of Chicago, IL, Ian Harris of Chicago, IL; sisters, Perley Sankar, Maharani Maraj, Latchmin Dilrem; brother, Deonarine Bisnauth.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bisnauth; her mother, Rajmati (Mamas) Bisnauth; brothers, Rampersaud Bisnauth, Motierem Bisnauth; sister, Nandani Dilar. And granddaughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Ramlagan.
Friends may call on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Life Church, 4650 Maryville Road in Granite City with Pastor Mark Maynard & Pastor Barry Shepherd officiating. Burial will at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City. Memorials are suggested to Calvary Life Church Mission Fund.
