Richard “Rich” Logan, 66 of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois.
Rich was born on August 30, 1951 in Granite City, Illinois; the son of the late Roy L. and Mabel (Rensing) Logan. Rich was a supervisor at Permacel in St. Louis. Rich loved sports, especially baseball, and played baseball for Eastern Illinois University. He enjoyed a good game of golf and was the groundskeeper at Arlington Golf Course in Collinsville. Rich was an active member at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and volunteered for numerous fish fries and church picnics. Rich was always there at church to help anyway he could. He will be remembered for his kind heart and all the special times he shared with his family and friends.
Rich is survived by and will be missed by his wife: Beth (Keim) Logan, whom he married on August 9, 2003; his son, Patrick Logan of Granite City, Illinois; his daughters, Carrie (B.J.) Presley of Troy, Illinois, Christy (Chris) Johnson of Glen Carbon, Illinois; his grandchildren, Lynnan Logan, Ty Presley, Brynn Presley, Breck Presley, Loren Johnson, Ali Johnson; his brother, Roy (Linda) Logan of Granite City, Illinois; niece, Ann (Skip) Birdsong of Belleville, Illinois; nephew, Steve (Michaela) Logan of Kansas City, Missouri.
Friends may call on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of his life, visitation will continue on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2300 Pontoon Road in Granite City with Father Chris Comerford officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville, Illinois. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
