Paulette Marie Bell, 83, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 5:14 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Faith Countryside Manor in Highland, Illinois.
She was born January 16, 1934 in East St. Louis, Illinois, a daughter of the late William Henry and Marie (Graham) Jacobs.
She married Albert E. Bell on July 30, 1955 in Granite City and he passed away on October 19, 1979.
She had worked as a cook for 15 years with the Granite City School District #9 and retired as a Matron at Coolidge Jr. High School. She is a member of Heritage Church formerly known as Cedar View General Baptist Church in Granite City. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Dennis Gordon of Highland, Illinois and Alison and Ralph Martin of Godfrey, Illinois; four grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Shayla Gordon of O’Fallon, Illinois, Meghan and Jeff Mason of Highland, Illinois, Justin and Dawn Martin of Godfrey, Illinois and Chad and Shelly Martin of Harrison, Tennessee; seven great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Powell, Kaitlin Paulette Martin, Justin Martin, Adaline Marie Martin, Kylee Robbins, Khegan Robbins and Jamison Martin; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William “Sonny” Jacobs and a sister, Lois Lockhart.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon with Reverend Greg Dickerman officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
