Paul Dennan Clark, age 79, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL. Paul was born on May 5, 1938 in Poughkeepsie, NY, a son of the late John Joseph Clark and Miriam (Perrin) Clark.
Paul was a United States Navy Veteran, retiring as a Captain after twenty-four years of dedicated service as a Supply Corps Officer. After retiring, Paul worked for General Dynamics, Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin. Paul graduated from Pawling High School in NY. He then attended and graduated from College of the Holy Cross in Worchester, MA. While serving in the navy, Paul graduated from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. On September 14, 1990, Paul married Linda Presswood, in St. Louis, MO. He was an avid golfer, natural athlete and a gifted furniture refinisher. Paul loved life, he loved to laugh, but most of all he loved his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by two brothers, John (Frances) Clark and Peter (Kathy) Clark; and by his faithful cocker spaniel, Murphy.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Clark; loving children, Michelle (Chris) Neely, Jennifer (Brad) Hine, Mark Clark, Sharon (Mike) Underwood and Maureen (Mike) Hogan; dear sisters, Althea (Carl) King and Betty (Frank) Murray; proud grandfather to Erin, Siobhan and Joe Neely, Abbey, Andy and Allison Hine, Hannah and Lydia Underwood and Peter and Cass Hogan; Sadie, beloved spaniel; extended family and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road, Glen Carbon, IL.
In celebration of his life, funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Greater St. Louis American Parkinson Disease Association, 1415 Elbridge Payne, Suite 150, Chesterfield, MO 63017. Donations will also be accepted at the funeral chapel.
