Pamela “Pam” Lee Smallman, age 61, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Gateway Regional Medical Center, Granite City, IL. Pam was born on March 22, 1956 in Granite City, IL, a daughter of the late Samuel Doty and Marjorie (Heath) Doty.
On January 3, 1981, Pam married Eugene “Gene” Smallman, the love of her life, in Granite City, IL. Pam worked at the Madison County Jail for many years, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Pam never met a stranger; she was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She enjoyed shopping, driving her convertible and traveling to a beach to put her toes in the sand. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Pam loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Pam was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Jerrell.
Pam is survived by her devoted husband, Gene Smallman of Granite City, IL; loving children, Lora (Jacob) Del Rio of Collinsville, IL, Tyler (Ruth Gallego) Smallman of Decatur, GA and Emily Smallman of Granite City, IL; dear sisters, Ruth Gage, Marilyn (Bill) Wolfe and Karen (Dennis) Beasley all of Granite City, IL; proud honorary grandma to Ella and Matthew Werner; nieces, nephews, extended family and many wonderful friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Nameoki United Methodist Church, Granite City, IL.
In celebration of her life, funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Nameoki United Methodist Church, with Pastor Mike Rayson officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL.
