Michael E. Baugus 48 of Granite City passed from this life on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at his home. Michael was born on December 10, 1961 in Granite City to Jerry & Virgie (Stanfill) Baugus. He was the longtime owner and operator of Affordable Dry Wall in Granite City, served his country in the United States Marines and was a member of AmVets Post #51. Michael is survived by his wife Whitney (Shelton) Baugus; son, Nathan Baugus of Granite City; sister, Jeri "Sissy" & (Dennis) Boyce of Granite City; brothers, Joe and Terry Baugus both of Granite City and his father, Jerry of Granite City. He was preceded by his mother and a brother, Tom Baugus. Friends may call on Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. A celebration of his life will be on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Pastor David Amsden officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
