Marshall A. Wilson, 81 of Pontoon Beach passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Granite Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Granite City.
Marshall was born on May 6, 1935 in Smithville, TN; a son of the late Buren Bolden and Pearl (Keith) Wilson. Marshall was a truck driver for Federal Gateway Allied Van Lines and an avid gun collector. In his free time, Marshall enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He will be remembered for his kind heart and all the special times he shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by and will be missed by his daughter; Betty J. Williams of Godfrey, IL; his grandchildren, Amanda and (Joal) Cunningham of Granite City, Kelly Arney of Godfrey, IL, Jade Duhamell of Godfrey, IL; great-grandchildren, Fallon Moneymaker of Pontoon Beach, IL, Noah Duhamell of Godfrey, IL, Emma Cook of Granite City, IL, Phoenix Cook of Granite City, IL, Riley Cunningham of Granite City, IL; great-great-grandchildren, Avery Hileman, Dakota Hileman; brother, Joe Wilson; sister, Jackie Dedmon.
In addition to his parents, Marshall was preceded in death by his wife; Opal L. (Kelley) Wilson and 8 of his brothers and sisters.
Friends may call on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of Marshall's life, services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
