Margaret F. Wilson, 89, of Granite City and formerly of Venice, Illinois passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
She was born January 9, 1924 in Sedgwick, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Bertha (Cudd) Phillips.
She had worked at Bemis Bag Company in St. Louis with 40 years of dedicated service.
She was a member of the Granite City Moose Lodge and enjoyed the activities at the nursing home including her days of playing bingo. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Thomas Stover and Morman Wilson; three sisters, Thelma Harris, Juanita Shepard and Mable Casey and three brothers, Herman Nicholson, Martin Phillips and Charles Phillips.
She is survived by one sister, Avis Wells of Belgrade, Missouri; many nieces; nephews; great nieces; great nephews; great-great nieces; great-great nephews; other extended family and friends.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013 with Reverend Charles West and her family will officiate.
Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and may be accepted at the funeral home.
