Mae Wolf, 92 of Granite City passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Granite Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on May 20, 1920 in Jerseyville, IL. She was the manager of Payless Shoe Store in Granite City and a life long wife and mother. She was a member of Central Christian Church and the United Way. She will be remembered for the love of her family and the many special times shared together.
She is survived by and will be missed by her husband; Samuel E. Wolf, whom she married on November 9, 1946; son, Dave B. Wolf of Granite City; grandchildren, Dave S. & (Sheila) Wolf of Granite City, Damon & (Rose) Wolf of Granite City, Tanya Kennedy of Granite City, Erin Wolf of Collinsville, IL, Renee M. Wolf of Granite City, Danny Thweatt of Granite City; great-grandchildren, Megan Grace Morse, J.D. Wolf, Jake Wolf, Mackenzie Kennedy, Gavin Kennedy; sister, Martha (Frank) Malson of Alton, IL; daughter-in-law, Susan (Bayless) Wolf of Collinsville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; John & Grace (Moore) Frank; son, Larry Wolf; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Diane (Corder) Wolf; sisters, Lucille (Frank) Foster, Myrtle Frank; brother, Orville Frank.
Friends may call on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of her life, services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Clint Wisdom officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
