Lisa Dawn Whitfield, 41, of New Baden and formerly of Decatur and Granite City, Illinois passed away at 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. She was born October 1, 1970 in Granite City.
She was a floral designer and cosmetologist and enjoyed motorcycles, antiques and all varieties of flowers. Lisa will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. She married Steven K. Whitfield on October 6, 2000 in Edwardsville and he survives.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her mother, Linda (Dickerson) Rother of Victoria, Texas; five children, Cody Fraser of New Baden, Kylee Frazer of Granite City, Sophi Frazer of New Baden, Jackson Frazer of New Baden and Bridget Lindsay of Caseyville; four grandchildren, Wyatt, Dallas, Abigail and Savannah Rogers; one brother, Steven Brown of Mt. Zion; one sister, Kimberly Crider of Barnhart, Missouri; other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Brown and stepfather, George Rother.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at City Temple, 4751 Maryville Road in Granite City on Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Rich Cope officiating. Memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice and may be accepted at the funeral home.
