Judy Dawn Leach, 67, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 11:25 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at her home.
She was born February 12, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri, a daughter of the late John and Betty (Wilson) Mowery.
She married Jerry Leach on April 15, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada and he passed away in August 2000.
She retired in 1999 as a switchboard operator supervisor from Lee’s Summit Hospital in Lee’s Summit, Missouri and had also worked many years at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City with years of service as a switchboard operator. She enjoyed her days of crafting and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her entire family and many friends.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Amy Taylor of Granite City; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Carl Benson of Granite City; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Linda Leach Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Alyssa, Ashley, Dylan, Kelsey, Brendan, Cody, Nick, Michael, John and Jessica; two great grandchildren, Landen and Aiden; two sisters, Connie Saatkamp of Granite City and Darlene Harrigan-Rogier of Granite City; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Annette Daniel; a sister, Joan Schellingberger and two brothers, Dan Mowery and John Mowery.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Legacy Golf Clubhouse, 3500 Cargill Road in Granite City.
Private family burial will take place next to her husband at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri.
