Joyce Jean Bailey, 85, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 2:50 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Willowcreek Rehab and Nursing in Belleville.
She was born June 18, 1931 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Simeon and Ann (Sherman) Blada.
She married Noel Oren Bailey on November 1, 1947 in St. Louis and he survives.
She retired from C.P.I. Corporation in St. Louis after many years of dedicated service. She enjoyed her days of embroidery and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband of 69 years, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Bobi Bailey of Alliance, Nebraska; a daughter-in-law, Martha Bailey of Granite City; four grandchildren, John Bailey, Barb Hustedt, Dodi Megli and Holly Bailey; six great grandchildren, Nathan Bailey, Beca Bailey, Austin Hustedt, Kayla Hustedt, Rett Megli and Reese Megli; a great-great granddaughter, Anna Bailey; a brother, Henry Blada of California; two sisters, Florence Edwards of Decatur and Lillian Schwendeman of Granite City; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Neil Bailey and Bruce Bailey; two brothers, Harold Blada and Francis Blada and two sisters, Ethel DePries and Ruth Blada.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Mark Maynard officiating.
Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and may be accepted at the funeral home.
