Joan Carol Bloodworth, 76, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 5:06 a.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at her home.
She was born December 8, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Ellman) Kahren.
She married Joseph A. Bloodworth on April 2, 1974 in St. Louis, Missouri and he survives.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished raising her family and caring for others throughout her life.
In addition to her beloved husband of 44 years, she is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry Lake of Granite City and John and Shirley Lake of Granite City; son-in-law, Jeff Skinner of Colorado; daughter-in-law, Sharon Bloodworth of Granite City; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Allen Bloodworth; two daughters and a son-in-law, Elizabeth Marie (Lake) Skinner and Vanessa (Lake) and Rick Cox; three brothers, Frank Kahren, William Kahren and Fred Kahren and two sisters, Elizabeth Pastorelli and Marianne Weishaupt.
In celebration of her life, a memorial visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Father Jeff Holtman officiating.
Burial will be at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Chicago at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and may be accepted at the funeral home.
