James Joe “Jimmy” Tormino, 57, of Farmington, Missouri and formerly of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 12:30 a.m. on Monday, September 25, 2017 at his home in Farmington.
He was born March 9, 1960 in East St. Louis, Illinois, a son of Wanda Lee (Wilkerson) Tormino of Benld, Illinois and the late Joseph Joe Tormino.
He retired from Local 774 after over 35 years of dedicated service as a laborer.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool and bowling and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three children, Charlie Faye Topple of Missouri, Christopher James Tormino of Campbell, Missouri and Angela Collins of Campbell, Missouri; three grandchildren, Hunter, Anna Rose and A.J.; a brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Betty Tormino of Alton, Illinois; a sister, Antoinette Tormino of Benld, Illinois; loving girlfriend of 14 years, Marsha Vinsonhaler of Farmington, Missouri; three special friends. Evalyn Evans, Matthew Evans Jr. and Bonnie Louise Evans; other extended family and friends.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Bob Price officiating. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and may be accepted at the funeral home.
