Glenda F. Drew, 58, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 4:38 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at her home.
She was born February 9, 1959 in St. Louis, a daughter of Dorothy A. (Hastings) Bailey and the late Alfred Russel Oliver.
She married Donald Drew Jr. on March 14, 1998 in Madison, Illinois and he passed away on February 11, 2009.
She had retired from Western Union after her service as a phone operator. She cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed playing pool and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Alexis Hooper of Granite City; step-daughter, Heather (Brett) Briner of Old Monroe, Missouri; two grandsons, Garrett and Gavin Hooper; two step-granddaughters, Kendra Coke and Brooklyn Briner; three sisters, Debbie Sander of Granite City, Lori (Ron) Hackney of Florida and Sue Rogers of Granite City; lifelong friend, Carol Wall of Granite City; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and many friends.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Mark Powell officiating.
A procession will be leaving Irwin Chapel on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. to arrive at St. Charles Memorial Gardens in St. Charles, Missouri for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice and may be accepted at the funeral home.
