Frederick "Fred" William Wolf, age 72, of Troy, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2013 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Fred was born on April 11, 1943 in St. Louis, MO, a son of the late Gilbert Wolf and Roselyn (Kaiser) Wolf Sutton.

Fred was a United States Air Force veteran who proudly served his country with honor. On April 15, 1967, Fred married Sharon Wittmaier, the love of his life in DesPeres, MO. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Troy, IL and he also sang in the church choir. Fred had retired from Basler Electric in Troy, IL after thirty-seven years of dedicated service. After retirement he started a consultant company for nuclear power companies named Wolf Works in Troy, IL. Fred was a HAM radio operator and a member of the Egyptian Radio Club; he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and going to his grandchildren's school events. Fred loved life, he loved to laugh, but most of all he loved his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon Wolf of Troy, IL; loving children, Jon (Cindy Wellen) Wolf of Highland, IL and Heather DiRosa of Troy, IL; proud grandfather to Sebastian Wolf, Elizabeth Wolf, Logan DiRosa, Kelsie DiRosa and Joe Wellen; dear siblings, Wayne (Donna) Wolf, Robert (Vicky) Wolf, Joyce (David) Richard and Susan (Gary) Winter; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road, Glen Carbon, IL.
