Esther Ybarra, 90 of Granite City passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
Esther was born on May 19, 1925 in Guadalajara, Mexico; a daughter to the late Nemorio and Sebastiana (Chavez) Munoz. Esther was a life long homemaker and mother. She attended and graduated from Beauty College and was a beautician in Mexico. Esther was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City and will be remembered for her kind heart and all the special times she shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by and will be missed by her children; Celia Lomax of Union, MO, Fred and (Jane) Ybarra of Reed Springs, MO, Joseph and (Jennifer) Ybarra of Stoughton, WI, Mary Esther Ybarra of Granite City, IL, Luis and (Phyllis) Ybarra of Granite City, IL, Rick and (Amanda) Ybarra of Granite City, IL; grandchildren, Alice Weaver, Roland Pfingsten, Steven Donaldson, Lynn Boschert, Tamara Gold, Amy Allen, Rene' Goll, Lisa Bohannon, Michele Morgan, Mark Donaldson, Chris Ybarra, Tracy Cook, Leslie Ybarra , Stephanie Ybarra, Amber Clark, Salvador Ybarra, Luis Ybarra II, Joseph Ybarra; nieces and nephews, Guillermo Torres, Hector Torres, Consuelo Rentaria, Harmando Torres, Esther Torres, Marta Silva, Ernesto Silva.
In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband; Salvador Ybarra, whom she married on July 19, 1953; her daughters, and one son, Carmen Dickerson, Teresa Donaldson, and infant twins, Bernice Ybarra, Salvador Ybarra Jr.; grandsons, Noble Lomax III, Joseph Ybarra; granddaughter, Terry Valencia; her sisters, Reynalda Munoz De Silva, Consuelo Munoz De Torres.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of her life, services will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2606 Washington Ave. in Granite City with Fr. Jeff Holtman officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials are suggested to Holy Family Catholic Church.
