Elva Mae “Ebb” Spiceland, 91 of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, Illinois.
Ebb was born on February 19, 1926 in Granite City, Illinois; the daughter of the late Howard and Anna (Thomason) Weston. Ebb was a founding member of Clark Avenue Church of Christ in Granite City. She was a homemaker who spent her days raising her family and taking care of others. Ebb will be remembered for the love of her family and all the special times they shared together.
She is survived by and will be missed by her son; Philip “Flip” (Ellen) Spiceland of Acworth, Georgia; her granddaughter, Jill (Rob) Bristow of Acworth, Georgia; her grandson, Ty Spiceland of Acworth, Georgia; her great-grandchildren, Callie Bristow, Jack Bristow of Acworth, Georgia; her sister, Sue (Babe) Champion of Granite City, Illinois.
In addition to her parents, Ebb was preceded in death by her husband; Walter Spiceland, whom she married on March 22, 1947; her sister, Kate Bailey.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Mike Allen officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials are suggested to Clark Avenue Church of Christ, 2130 Clark Ave., Granite City, Illinois, 62040.
