Elizabeth Ann "Libby" Yaw, 60, of Worden, Illinois passed away at 5:05 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Relais Bonne Eau in Edwardsville.
She was born June 21, 1953 in Centralia, the daughter of the late Russell and Jeannetta (Evilsizer) Williams.
She married Greg Yaw on December 18, 1971 at the First Christian Church in Odin, Illinois and he survives.
She was a registered nurse at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton with 20 years of dedicated service in the Surgical Center. She was a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville. She had a special love for photography and enjoyed her days of traveling and gardening. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by a daughter, Lauren Yaw and fiancé, Jonathan Shorter of New Orleans, Louisiana; a son, Marty Yaw and wife, Rachel Yaw of Troy; a brother, Mike Williams and wife, Vicki Williams of Odin; two sisters-in-law, Cindy Guerrettaz of Marion and Karey Hersemann of Springfield; her cherished dachshund, Woody; many special cousins; nieces; nephews; other extended family; co-workers and many friends.
In celebration of her life, a memorial service will be held at the LeClaire Room at N.O. Nelson Center, 622 Troy Road in Edwardsville, on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Bruce E. Baumberger as celebrant. A memorial visitation will continue following the celebration of life service. Inurnment will be at a later date at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin.
