Edward H. Bareiter Sr., 70, of Pierron, IL, formerly of East St. Louis, IL and Cahokia, IL, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Stearns Nursing and Rehab, Granite City, IL. He was born on August 1, 1942 in East St. Louis, IL, a son to the late Mr. and Mrs. Englebert Bareiter.
Edward had worked for over 35 years as a boilermaker for Boilermakers Local 363, Belleville, IL before retiring. He was a born again Christian and was a prison minister. Edward enjoyed woodworking, camping and sailing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents; Edward was preceded in death by three sisters, Vivan, Ruth and Lorraine.
He is survived by three loving sons, Edward Bareiter, Jr. of Pinckneyville, IL, Michael (Amber) Bareiter of Pierron, IL and Dennis Bareiter of Granite City, IL; brother, Englebert Bareiter of Belleville, IL; sister, Jeanette Kehr of Louisiana, MO; four wonderful grandchildren, Daimon, Paiton, Michael Jr. and Eligah.
Visitation: friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Rd. Granite City, IL.
In celebration of his life, funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2012 at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, IL with Rev. Clint Wisdom officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Maryville Rd. Granite City, IL.
