Dr. Dorsey "Keith" Zinn, 66, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 4:03 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2011 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 8, 1944 in Granite City, the son of the late Kaleb Dorsey and Veronica (Pavlovich) Zinn.
Keith served the people of the Metro East communities for over 30 years as a dedicated and compassionate chiropractor. The United States Navy veteran proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of several awards and medals. He enjoyed nature and times spent outdoors, helping others through charity work, listening or sharing wisdom with others and will be remembered for the kind and gentle spirit he was to all.
He is survived by his cherished wife of 25 years, Mary Ann (Stuart) Zinn of Granite City; mother-in-law, Lucy Stuart of Granite City; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Reverend Edith Kay and Glenn Seltzer of Jacksonville, Florida and Peggy and Jeff Marler of Waterloo; one brother-in-law, James Stuart of Oklahoma; two aunts, Delores Zinn of Granite City and Audrey Perigen of California; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda C. Zinn.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011 with Reverend Larry Cook officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorials may be made to the family and may be accepted at the funeral home.
