Donald Ray Wofford, 66, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 1:50 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at John Cochran Veterans Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born June 9, 1949 in Granite City, a son of the late Jack Allen and Edith Mae (Brooks) Wofford.
The United States Army veteran proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the AMVETS Post #51 and enjoyed collecting coins and watching sports. He enjoyed life and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kelly Don and Maria Wofford of Troy, Illinois; a grandson, Damon Wofford; a brother, Larry Allen Wofford of Granite City; nieces and nephews, Tarryn Wofford, Denise Hillier and Nicholas Richard; other extended family and friends.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 12:00 noon.
Burial with full military honors will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
Memorials may be made to the AMVETS Post #51 in Granite City and may be accepted at the funeral home.
