David M. Bagi 57, of Granite City passed from this life on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City. David was born on August 5, 1954 in Granite City. He was a retired welder at Tower Automotive in Granite City. David loved music and was an accomplished drummer. He enjoyed being with his family, especially his cat Jacob. He and his family spent many hours playing trivia, watching the history channel and his favorite game show Wheel of Fortune. He is survived by and will be missed by his wife, Laura Lee (Morrow) Bagi, whom he married on August 30, 1975; father, Al Bagi of Granite City; son, Brian Bagi of Granite City; 3 brothers, Bill Bagi of Granite City, Jim & (Pam) Bagi of Granite City, Phil & (Patricia) Bagi of St. Louis, MO; the children that walked through David's heart, Cameron Lignoul, Adrian Manley, Xavier Manley, Lily Manley and many other special children from the day care. He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Jean (Cook) Bagi and his sister, Jeannelle Bagi. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Clint Wisdom officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials are suggested to the family or Granite City A.P.A.
