David Lee Henn, age 74, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Memorial Hospital East, Shiloh, IL. David was born on April 25, 1943 in Granite City, IL, a son of the late George Henn Sr. and Mary (Welsh) Henn.
David worked as a city inspector for Granite City, IL for many years. He was an avid Green Bay Packers football fan to the end. When David passed away he was wearing his favorite Green Bay Packers shirt. David loved all animals; he had many pets throughout the years that he truly loved. He was an Eagle Scout and a former member of ROCA. David enjoyed hanging out with his friends and drinking his favorite beer “Busch”. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. David loved life, he loved to laugh, but most of all he loved his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn A. (McNeill) Henn and by his brother, George Henn II.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Traci Defelice of Charlotte, NC and Staci Henn (fiancé, Frank Ensor) of Granite City, IL; proud grandfather to Dominick, Margot and Nora; brother, Greg (Sue) Henn of Collinsville, IL; extended family and many wonderful friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL.
In celebration of his life, funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL.
Memorial donations may be given to Granite City A.P.A. or to A.S.P.C.A. and donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.com.
