David Lee Allen, 73, of Edwardsville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Allen was born on January 27, 1938 in Hindsboro, Illinois a son of the late John W. & Marjorie (Pierce) Allen. Mr. Allen worked for Boeing Corporation in St. Louis, Mo as a software engineer and retired in 2005 after many years of dedicated service. Mr. Allen enjoyed spending time with family and had a passion for building home builder aircraft; he was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He is survived by his beloved wife Beverly (Johns) Allen; sons Damon & Jeanne Allen of Rathdrum, Idaho, Aron & Kimberly Allen of Ballwin, Missouri; brother Dan Allen of Dalton City, Illinois; sisters Daryl Allen of Scott's Valley, California, Diane Allen of White Salmon, Washington; grandchildren Nicole, Jack, Connor, Sophia Allen.
