Clifford Gene Adams of Granite City, Illinois died peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at 3:00 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016 at the age of 65.
He was born on September 20, 1951 in Granite City, a son of the late Donald Ralph and Annabelle (Moore) Adams.
Clifford graduated from Granite City Senior High School Class of 1969. He retired from Granite City Steel with over 30 years of dedicated service at the blast furnace.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, his days of auctioneering, telling jokes, eating ice cream, singing old country songs including "Patches" and playing games and especially "Mustangs" and "Slug Bug" with his kids. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will forever be remembered and dearly missed.
Clifford is survived by his wife, Connie (Stephens) Adams of Granite City; his children, Belynda Loftus and her fiancé, Justin Brown of Glen Carbon, Michelle Adams Dennis of Granite City and Aaron Adams Dennis of Granite City; grandchildren, Abigail Loftus and Justin Travis Brown; brothers, James (Thela Wanick) Adams of Cottage Hills, John (Shelley) Adams of Kane, Illinois, Matthew Adams of Granite City; sister-in-law, Deborah Adams of Granite City; several nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Alan Adams.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the Adams Family and may be accepted at the funeral home.
