Carolyn J. "Lynn" Wiltgen, 85, of St. Louis, Missouri and formerly of Granite City passed away at 12:10 a.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. She was born November 24, 1925 in Mitchell, a daughter of the late Zefph R. and Jossie Ethel (Bush) Gibson. She married Clarence "Nick" Wiltgen on December 31, 1966 in Clayton, Missouri and he survives. She had worked as a cashier at a cafeteria and grocery store through the years and enjoyed her days of traveling with her husband.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Charles Lee and Nancy Gibson of Edwardsville; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Gibson and Joseph Clarence Gibson and two sisters, Doris Adams and Opal Skipper.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 12:00 noon. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice and may be accepted at the funeral home.
