Carol Ruth Null, 78, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Friday, September 08, 2017 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois.
She was born September 27, 1938 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Harold Lloyd and Mary Francis (Schutkofke) Pinkerton.
She had worked 12 years with Krey Packing in St. Louis as a butcher and later retired from Central Microfilm in St. Louis after several years of service. She enjoyed reading and was a dedicated mother and grandmother and cherished tending to her family and sharing many special moments. She will be remembered for the love and dedication she had for her family.
She is survived by six children and their spouses, Dorothy “Dottie” and Edward Crews of Granite City, Diana “Sissy” and Virgil Ward of Alhambra, William “Billy” and Crystal Null of Cobden, Illinois, Renea “NaNa” and Robert Meyer of Pocahontas, Illinois, Jon Robert Null of Granite City and Amy Null of Alhambra; nineteen cherished grandchildren; eighteen beloved great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, John “Howard” and Cheri Pinkerton of Granite City; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Null and two sisters, Mary Sue Pinkerton and Lois Ann McElmurry.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jesse Tedder officiating.
Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.
