Carl G. Kukarola, 63 of Granite City passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.

Carl was born on August 5, 1954 in Red Bud, Illinois; a son of the late George C. and Helen F. (Schneider) Kukarola. Carl was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City and Transformers United for Christ Church in Alton. Carl drove deliveries for Willis Florist for many years in Granite City. His greatest love was his wife, Sandra, whom he married on September 16, 2008. Carl will be remembered for his kind and giving heart and all the special times he shared with his family and friends.

Carl is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Sandra (Gott-Williams) Kukarola of Granite City; his sisters, Patricia Aleman of Glen Carbon, IL, Helen Feeherty of Hazelwood, MO, Joann (David) Cruse of Granite City, IL, Rita Rosenburg of Granite City, IL; his brother, James (Angela) Kukarola of Granite City, IL and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded by his step-son, Robert Eugene Williams.

Friends may call on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of Carl’s life, services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Jeff Holtman officiating at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2606 Washington Ave. in Granite City. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City. Memorials in Carl’s memory are suggested to the family.
