Betty J. Duft, 89, of North Richland Hills, Texas and formerly of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Keller Oaks Healthcare Center in Keller, Texas.
She was born May 29, 1929 in Granite City, Illinois, a daughter of the late Frank and Ann (Klesh) Pare.
She married Richard Paul Duft on November 20, 1948 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granite City and he passed away on June 15, 2014.
She had worked at A.O. Smith and St. Elizabeth Hospital with many years of dedicated clerical service. She enjoyed working until her recent years and retired as a concierge from the Millenium Hotel in downtown St. Louis. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Jane Duft of North Richland Hills, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Tom Chapin of The Villages, Florida; three grandchildren and spouses, Jonathan Duft, Ryan and Jennifer Franco Duft and Scott and Carol Swiecicki; five great grandchildren, Jaelon, Kenidie, Kaleb, Kayden and Jaxson; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Pare of Granite City; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Pare.
In celebration of her life, a memorial mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jeff Holtman as celebrant.
Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri following a luncheon after mass.
Memorials may be made to Holy Family Church or to Washington University for Dr. Perlmutter’s Parkinson Disease Research.
